WWW Wednesday

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Taking on a World of Words. But! Classy X Book Reviews are the ones who inspired me to play each week and to share what I’m reading as I attack the tbr pile. To join in the WWW party, just answer the three question in the post.

To be honest, I haven’t read much this month. I’m in one of those weird moods where I just want to re-read all the comfort paranormal romances. I also had this nagging hunger for a new science fiction or fantasy story to fall into; it was just hard to get myself to settle down with those books. But, overall, I did manage to read a handful of books. So, I guess I should pat myself on the back for some progress this month x

What are you currently reading?

I’m currently reading The Winter People by Jennifer McMahon, which is a story filled with horror and paranormal mysteries. I’m also reading Michael Crichton’s State Of Fear, which is a science fiction techno-thriller of tale. Both are part of my tbr for January’s theme in the Adult SFF Backlist Books reading challenge.

What did you read recently?

It took me awhile, but I finally finished The Nightfields by Joanna Klink. And then I jumped right into Kiss of the Fae by Natalia Jaster, which was a fantasy paranormal romance with an interesting fae twist.

What will you read next?

As we all know by now, I am absolutely terrible with predicting what I’ll read next; I rarely, if ever, end up reading the stories I intend to. HOWEVER, this month is an exception.

I have been dying to get my hands on Dark Lies by Veronica Douglas. It releases on January 31st and you can bet your steaming potatoes I’ll be climbing between those pages STAT.

As for the second book I might read in the very near future, Bones of the Gods by Melissa Polk just came out. And I am loving that premise. So, I’ve bumped it up to the top of my tbr, right behind Dark Lies.
